Programme Description

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme of Hillsborough County is a magnet program that provides highly motivated college-bound students the opportunity to participate in a rigorous liberal arts curriculum. The program is a four-year course of study with two phases: Grades 9 and 10 are the pre-diploma Programme, and Grades 11 and 12 make up the IB Diploma Programme. Students apply in 8th grade to enter the program beginning in 9th grade.

Prerequisite:

You must complete Algebra I or Algebra I Honors (preferred) AND pass the Algebra 1 End-of-Course Exam before August of 9th grade with a “C” or higher each semester.

Eligibility Factors:

  • GPA: Grades earned in core subjects from 7th grade and part of 8th grade
  • Test scores: Standardized test scores from 6th and/or 7th grade

Comprehensive curriculum of college level work

 

Students generally take AP exams in areas of strength

Exams are graded externally through ETS and student marks assigned.
